You know nobody said it was going to be easy.
Menopause is a bitch. The flushes, the brain fog, the fatigue, the achy joints, the anxiety, the weight gain, the overwhelming sense you’re just not you anymore.
So you moan about it to your girlfriends, you take it out on your partner, you seek out quick fixes and you feel even worse.
The good news is it doesn’t have to be that way – you can regain control of your menopause symptoms. You just need to ACT.
Accept
Accept what’s going on, don’t fight it, don’t constantly moan about how unfair it is and how awful it is to be a woman.
Accept there is no quick fix. Simply splashing lavender on your pillow alone is not going to miraculously help you sleep. A cheap magnesium supplement is not going to dissolve your anxiety.
Accept there are layers of changes you need to implement, changes to your eating, to your exercising, to your mindset and to the way you manage stress.
Accept it’s going to take time for your body to adjust to the changes you’re making.
If you’ve not slept for 6 months why would you expect to start sleeping again within a couple of weeks?
If you’ve put on 3 stone over the past couple of years why would you expect to lose it in a couple of months?
If you’ve been having hot flushes for 5 years why would they suddenly stop in a matter of days?
Commit
Commit to investing time, effort and energy in yourself. You deserve it right?
Commit to eating better, commit to exercising differently, commit to devoting at least 10 minutes each day to you.
Take action
And then take action.
