Are you tired and tearful with less control over your temper these days?

Have you noticed sudden mood swings?

One minute you’re happily getting on with your day and the next you’re furious because that certain person hasn’t liked your latest facebook post and you ALWAYS like all of hers.

Do you feel like you’ve permanently got PMT?

Are you ruled by your hormones?  Yes, you are!

Hormone imbalance is at the root of your tiredness, your temper and your tears.

What can you do about it?

Let’s start by taking a look at what’s going on…

From your mid 30s your levels of oestrogen and progesterone, your sex hormones, naturally drop off.

Oestrogen is a fairly excitable hormone whilst progesterone has a more calming effect.

Under normal circumstances progesterone keeps oestrogen under control, but when progesterone drops off more quickly, oestrogen runs riot and you get grumpy and tearful.

Add xenoestrogens to the mix and you’ll quickly feel even worse.

Xenoestrogens are chemical compounds that mimic oestrogen and confuse your body as to what your oestrogen levels really are.

You’re exposed to several 100 each day and they can be found in everyday items such as cosmetics, toothpaste, deodorant and food packaging.

One of the most common and most damaging is Bisophenol-A (BPA), which is used to coat the inside of plastic water bottles.

The BPA will leech into the water in the bottle and then into you when you drink it.

Your body reads the difference in your oestrogen and progesterone levels as even greater and responds with headaches, mood swings, brain fog and even hot flushes and night sweats.

No wonder you’re tired and tearful!

So getting those xenoestrogens out of your system is absolutely crucial.

There are two key ways to do that:

  1. Stop drinking from plastic water bottles! I’m serious – chuck them out now! Buy yourself a BPA free bottle – they’re readily available at the supermarkets or even on amazon. Sistema is the brand I use.
  1. Pump your body full of phytoestrogens! These are a plant based substance and they’ll help block those xenoestrogens.

Phytoestrogens are present in anything green like spinach, lettuce, kale, broccoli, runner beans and broad beans.

You cannot eat too much green stuff – I even have spinach for breakfast! It’s tastes great with avocado and scrambled egg.

Transform yourself into a green goddess.

Make sure there’s something green on your plate at every meal. You’ll soon notice an improvement in your moods and energy levels plus you’ll be working smarter too.
