I’ve got an expert solution system that’s guaranteed to ramp up your body confidence, energy levels and productivity. Step 1 Kickstart and Take Control was about getting clear on what you want and getting the systems in place to achieve it. Step 2 is about understanding the root cause of your business overwhelm, fatigue and stress.

Your health is a product of the lifestyle choices you make, the food you eat, and any exercise you choose to do. Those elements all fit together like jigsaw pieces and if any of those pieces move out of alignment symptoms come to the surface. Poor sleep patterns, mood swings, low motivation and weight gain are all symptoms of internal misalignment – hormone imbalance.

Your Unique Hormone Balance

Hormones are simply your body’s chemical messengers. They control your appetite, your behaviours, your mood and your energy levels right down to how you feel at any given moment of the day.

They’re impacted by your food choices, the environment, stress, genetics, the chemicals in your clothes and food packaging and even the way in which you exercise.

Hormones are most commonly associated with either menstruation or menopause but hormones and hormone imbalance affects women of all ages whatever the time of the month. You have so many hormones: cortisol, adrenalin, insulin, glucagon, leptin, ghrelin, testosterone, human growth hormone, oestrogen, progesterone… the list goes on.

If over a period of time your hormone levels become unbalanced and stay unbalanced it has a huge impact not just on your personal health but on your professional performance too. If your cortisol levels are out of control it’s like drinking a couple of cans of red bull. You get that sense of second wind or energy, think you’re acting fast and rationally and coping with multiple things but actually you’re rushing from task to task and not finishing anything properly. You rely on sugar and caffeine to keep you going through the afternoon and then you’re awake at four in the morning worrying about whether you hit reply all instead of reply when you submitted the latest salary reviews.

The most interesting thing about cortisol and business performance is that when you’re very stressed the creative part of your brain switches off and you go into survival mode. You’re reactive rather than proactive. You act in the moment rather than plan for the future. You can’t think strategically when you’re in survival mode.

The other thing to know about cortisol is that when you’re body’s stressed it will deposit fat around your midriff. The good news is that there are some very simple steps you can take to manage your cortisol levels and correct any other hormone imbalance and I’ll be sharing those steps over the next few weeks.
