Mood swings? Hot flushes? Weight gain? Low libido? Irritability?
Are signs of menopause and hormone imbalance wreaking havoc with your life?
Your health is like a jigsaw. The lifestyle choices you make, the food you eat, the exercise you choose to do and any nutritional boosters that you choose to add in all fit together like jigsaw pieces. If any of those pieces move out of alignment symptoms come to the surface. Menopause is simply a symptom of the fact that internally you are out of alignment – menopause is a symptom of internal imbalance.
Changes in hormone balance
Between the ages of 35 and 50 levels of oestrogen and progesterone, your sex hormones, naturally drop off. Oestrogen drops by 35% and progesterone drops by 75%. Oestrogen is a fairly excitable hormone whilst progesterone has a more calming effect. Under normal circumstances progesterone keeps oestrogen under control but if progesterone drops off more quickly, oestrogen is allowed to run riot and symptoms appear. These symptoms include irritability, hot flushes, weight gain, low libido – all classic signs of menopause.
The wrong type of oestrogen
The root cause of your hormone imbalance is too much of the wrong type of oestrogen in your system: xenoestrogens.
Xenoestrogens are chemical compounds that mimic oestrogen and make your body think oestrogen levels are higher than they really are. You’re exposed to several 100 xenoestrogens each day. They can be found in cosmetics, toothpaste, deodorant, sunscreen, food packaging and many kinds of plastics.
One of the most common and most damaging is Bisophenol-A (BPA) which is used to coat the inside of plastic water bottles. BPA leeches into the water and then into you when you drink it. Your body believes your oestrogen levels have increased and responds with headaches, digestive issues, brain fog and hot flushes. Your menopause symptoms get worse!
Getting those xenostrogens out of your system is absolutely crucial to managing menopause symptoms and next week I’ll be telling you just how you can do that.
